NOTICE OF FINANCIAL INCENTIVE FOR THE MARRIOTT BONVOY® ATHLETIC VIP PROGRAM FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS
The California Consumer Privacy Act’s (“CCPA”) implementing regulations define a “financial incentive” as a program, benefit, or other offering “related to the collection, deletion, or sale of personal information”. Marriott International offers guests the opportunity to participate in the Marriott Bonvoy Athletic VIP Program (the “Program”), which may provide benefits, including discounted rates on stays, as well as the opportunity for discounted or free stays to those who choose to participate. Those benefits are described along with other material terms and conditions
here. Our collection of program participants’ Personal Data (including name, zip code, email address, and other Personal Data as described in the
California and Colorado Privacy Statement under “Personal Data We Collect, Disclose, Share, and Sell”) allows Marriott to operate the Program and provide benefits. Marriott uses the Personal Data of participants of the Program, including their stay details, to administer the Program. Otherwise, the types of Personal Data that we collect from Program participants are generally similar to the types of Personal Data that we collect from individuals who are not participants in the Program. The amount of Personal Data that we collect from a participant or non-participant may vary and is dependent on the level of interactions and engagement that the participant or non-participant has with Marriott.
Marriott seeks to ensure that both participants or non-participants have a memorable and enjoyable experience when staying at a Marriott hotel. For this reason, in connection with a hotel stay, Marriott may collect information from both participants or non-participants related to their personal preferences, as described in the section titled “The Data We Collect” in the
Marriott Group Global Privacy Statement.
Marriott does not "sell" or “share,” as those terms are defined under the CCPA, Personal Data of Program participants.
We are unable to estimate the value of a Program participant’s Personal Data to Marriott, as the information collected as part of the Program is used solely to administer the Program. The value of Program benefits to participants varies significantly as individual participants take advantage of Program benefits to varying degrees.
You may join the Program through the enrollment channel in line with the
Terms & Conditions.
Participants who are California residents may exercise their CCPA rights (i.e., the right to know/access; correct; delete, and to opt out of the selling/sharing of Personal Data). A participant may also choose not to receive marketing updates or offers at any time without any effect on their participant status or eligibility to receive Program benefits. To do so, click on “
Your Privacy Choices” or call
1-800-218-9316.
You may cancel your Program participation at any time by notifying Marriott Bonvoy Athletic VIP Member Support at:
